A New Trailer For STAR TREK: PICARD Debuted At NYCC

Star Trek made its triumphant return to television with Star Trek Discovery on CBS's streaming service, CBS All Access. There were plans for more shows, including spinoffs, animated adventures, and shorts. One of the big shows being developed was one focusing on Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Patrick Stewart is reprising his role as Picard, and we got to see a small tease of him back in the role. A full trailer was released at New York Comic Con this weekend, and you can watch it below.

It certainly looks intense, and even has some more familiar faces to those that watched The Next Generation. Yet it seems friendly to new viewers as well, which is crucial. This show seems like it is the best reason to subscribe to CBS All Access, if you were on the fence about it.

For those that are aware that CBS All Access is is available in the US and Canada only, fret not. The show will air on Amazon Prime in the UK and other international markets.

Patrick Stewart's two most famous roles are Charles Xavier in the X-Men series, and this role as Picard. He was able to reprise his Xavier role in 2017's Logan, offering a tragic and sympathetic end to the character. It looks like he is putting an epilogue on his Captain of the Enterprise now, which should be just as good if not better.

Star Trek: Picard premieres January 23.
