Paul Dano Cast As The Riddler In THE BATMAN

Fresh off the news that Zoe Kravitz was going to star as Catwoman opposite Robert Pattinson's Batman, comes another casting of the Caped Crusader's Rogues Gallery. THR reports that Paul Dano, best known for his roles in films such as Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood has been cast as The Riddler.

Dano will play Edward Nigma alongside Pattinson and Kravitz. Rumors of the plot have Batman trying to solve a mystery within Arkham, so it would make sense that many different villains appear. Outside of those three, Jeffrey Wright has been cast as Commissioner Gordon, so the talent involved with this project is pretty stellar.  

The Emmy-Nominated actor is definitely an inspired choice for the villain, and joins the ranks of Frank Gorshin, John Astin, Cory Michael Smith, and Jim Carrey who have all played the role in a live action setting. Jonah Hill was originally circling the role, but talks fell apart.

Matt Reeves is a stellar director, who is the perfect choice to bring Batman back to the big screen. His Planet of the Apes movies are some of the best things cinema has to offer.

It will be very interesting to see who else joins the cast of this highly anticipated comic book movie. There are many different takes on the Riddler, but Dano will add that extra layer of intensity that is needed for Reeves' version. It will be exciting to see him in action.

The Batman hits theaters June 25, 2021.
